What I Offer

I offer a warm and non-judgmental space for you to explore whatever issues are present for you. I am particularly interested in how the body holds our life stories and how by paying attention to this in an intuitive and creative way, a different perspective may arise.

Our work will include talking about any issues but also paying attention to sensation and slowing down to whatever is present for you.

Mindfulness Based Core Process Psychotherapy (MBCPP) is the original mindfulness-based psychotherapy in the UK, that integrates Buddhist psychology and compassion practices, with western psychotherapeutic theory.

It is not about following a particular formula, rather about deeply listening to each individual and their needs. By slowing down and paying attention to the here and now, we can bring awareness to mind, body and habitual reactions, which may help to bring some compassion and understanding to ourselves. You do not need to be a Buddhist or meditator to attend MBCPP therapy.

I am a senior trainee in Mindfulness Based Core Process Psychotherapy working in Hackney.

Some of the areas I focus on include (but are not limited to) anger, anxiety, bereavement, illness, life transitions, self-harm, sexuality and spirituality. You may want to talk about some of this, or something different, or you may have several concerns.

About Me

I previously trained as a mindfulness teacher with Mindfulness Association and Mindfulness UK. I have lived in London and Brighton (Hove, actually) and have a 20-year career in the civil service.

Rates

The cost is £55 (current trainee psychotherapist rate) per session. Sessions are on a weekly basis. Each session is for 60 minutes at the same time every week.

Please note that 48 hours’ notice is required for cancellations. Payment by bank transfer.

Contact

I offer a free 30-minute in-person consultation to help you decide if I am the right therapist for you.

As many studies have shown, the most effective aspect of psychotherapy is the relationship between the client and therapist.

During our initial meeting we can discuss your reasons for wanting therapy and you can ask any questions.

There is no obligation to commit at this stage and you may wish to meet other therapists to ensure we are the right fit.

To find out more and discuss availability please email me at: [email protected] or call me on 020 4572 0728
