Rebecca Wellburn – Integrative Counsellor
About Me
Hi, I’m Rebecca, a qualified integrative counsellor, registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). My counselling practice builds on a career working in health and care services.
This alongside an Arts background and wide ranging life experience gives me a unique perspective and deep empathy in my counselling work.
Having lived and worked in London most of my life, I’m sensitive to the complex and diverse cultural and societal factors that influence our experience. This awareness is central to the way I work and helps me connect with clients from many walks of life.
My approach
The most important aspect of my practice is to build a strong, trusting relationship where self-discovery, growth and healing can safely happen.
My commitment is to create an environment where you feel secure enough to share whatever you choose, at a pace that is right for you.
This process can be difficult at times and I will consistently remain present, supportive and attuned to your personal journey.
By drawing from both person-centred and psychodynamic approaches. I can adapt the way I work to meet your changing needs as you go through therapy.
At times my role is to support your innate capacity to move towards growth and at other times it is to recognise and work with unconscious aspects that may be preventing this from happening. Through careful listening and thoughtful questioning,
I aim to deeply understand your feelings, your relationships with others and your lived experience.
By being alongside you in this exploration, I bring additional perspective and a calm, non-judgemental space where you can know yourself more deeply and explore new possibilities.
This growing self-understanding and acceptance is transformative and can empower clients to move forward in life with increased insight and confidence.
I work with a wide range of issues, including; anxiety, depression, loss, grief, relationship difficulties, work issues, loneliness, low confidence, loss of motivation, purpose and life transitions.
