Charles-Soyombo – Integrative Counsellor
About Me
I am an Integrative counsellor, using a combination of different theories and approaches to help you find the most effective path forward. I believe in the healing power of relationships and strive to create a safe, supportive space where you can explore your challenges openly.
Before becoming a therapist, I managed a supported living care home and worked as a support worker with both adults and youth with learning disabilities. This experience taught me that true growth happens when individuals feel truly heard and respected, a principle I carry into my therapeutic work with a non-judgmental approach.
I am especially passionate about supporting those who have experienced loss, and I specialise in bereavement and loss counselling. Over the years, I have helped many clients navigate the complex emotions that come with grief. My extensive background in bereavement services has provided me with the tools and insights necessary to foster a compassionate and safe environment where clients can explore their pain. I understand that grief is deeply personal, and there is no “right” way to grieve. I recognise that both good and bad days are part of the journey, and I encourage clients to honour their unique process and take the time they need to heal. I believe that acknowledging and processing these emotions is essential for finding peace and acceptance.
Additionally, I have experience working with young teens and adults dealing with challenges such as generalised anxiety disorder (GAD), depression, behavioural issues, loneliness, and self-harm. These difficulties are often connected to factors like social discrimination, exclusion, stigma, the pressures of social media, and influences from gang-related environments.
“The light at the end of the tunnel is your life, it’s the tunnel that is temporary”
I aim to create a non-judgmental space where clients can express their emotions openly and without pressure. You have full control of the experience throughout our sessions.
In addition, I provide services to schools, supported living homes, and care homes, and I am also open to accepting NHS referrals.
