Ian Elliott – Therapeutic Counsellor
About me
My name is Ian Elliott and I am a dedicated person-centred counsellor with a passion for helping individuals explore their potential and achieve personal growth. With a Counselling Therapeutic CPCAB Level 4 diploma and several years of experience in the field, I am committed to providing a supportive and empathetic environment for clients to explore their thoughts and feelings.
Guided by the principles of person-centred therapy, I believe in the inherent ability of each individual to find solutions within themselves. I focuses on building a strong therapeutic relationship based on trust, respect, and unconditional positive regard, empowering clients to gain deeper self-awareness and confidence.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and adhere to its Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy.
Outside of counselling, I enjoy boardgames, card games and competitions as well as events to do with sci-fi / super heroes and trains, which help me stay grounded and connected to the values of empathy and understanding that underpin my work.
My Approach
My approach is warm, compassionate, and non-judgmental, creating a safe space for clients to express themselves freely. I have worked with diverse populations, addressing a range of issues such as anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, personal development and a lot of work with Bereavement.
I am dedicated to continuous learning and professional development, ensuring that his practice remains informed by the latest research and techniques in the field.
Feeling overwhelmed or stuck? I’m here to help. In a safe, supportive space, we’ll explore what’s holding you back and work together toward healing and growth. You deserve to feel empowered and in control of your life. Take the first step—reach out today, and let’s start your journey to a more balanced and fulfilling future.
Getting Started
I offer a free initial telephone or Online consultation, usually taking around 15 minutes. This is an opportunity for you to ask questions, establish availability, and if you wish, book an initial assessment. Alternatively, an initial session can be booked via email or telephone.
The initial assessment session is an opportunity to get to know you. We can discuss what areas or issues you would like to work on and the ways in which I may be able to support you. At the end of the initial assessment, we can agree on whether (and how) you would like to continue our work. It is important that you feel I am the right therapist for you.
Once our work commences, we will meet weekly at a set time as agreed. Sessions last 50 minutes and take place at Space To Be You; comfortable, peaceful and confidential therapy rooms in Hackney, East London. Our work can be open-ended (ongoing for as long as necessary) or time-limited (for an agreed period established at the beginning of the work).
I also offer sessions online and via telephone.
Fees
My Fees are £50 per session and sessions are 50 minutes, either in person or online.
I offer a no-cost 15 minute introductory conversation; for us to get a sense of each other and for me to begin to understand what’s brought you to therapy.
