Susie Cunningham – Adolescent Counsellor

I am a dedicated adolescent counsellor with twenty years specialising in supporting young people aged 12-25 as they navigate the challenges and transitions of adolescence and early adulthood. These years can be a time of growth, self-discovery, and sometimes turbulence, and I am here to help you make sense of it all.

Together, we will work through any worries or difficulties you may be facing, using integrative and creative approaches to explore and process your experiences. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive space where you feel heard and understood as we work toward greater clarity and emotional well-being.

I am trained in using the creative arts in the therapy space. Use of the arts in counselling can support you to express those feelings that perhaps you can’t find words for. You do not need previous experiences or skills in art to benefit from creative art therapy.

When not in Private Practice, I work at a Secondary School in Bethnal Green for Place 2Be Charity. And I also run therapeutic group work for children and young people using cooking as therapy.

Areas I can work with: Anxiety, Bereavement, Chronic illness, Co dependency, Exam Stress, Family conflict, Low mood, Neurodiversity, Peer Relationships, School Issues, Self-Harming, Sleep or Insomnia.

I hold a neurodivergent and LGBTQ+ friendly space.

I offer a free 15 minute initial consultation for parents or young people to see how we can work together and what you’d like to achieve. It’s an opportunity to get to know one another and you can ask any questions you might have. There is no obligation to continue after this, but if you’d then like to, we can organise the initial assessment.

For under 16s, I offer an initial assessment with the parent to understand the area of difficulty you think your child may need support with.
